The Ministry of Defence (MOD) Mental Health Centre in Jerusalem

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) Mental Health Centre in Jerusalem –is part of a strategic plan to establish Herzog Medical Centre as a regional center for mental health and psychotrauma care. The Centre will provide mental health and psychotrauma care for security personnel, discharged soldiers, police, and fire-fighters from Israel’s south and greater Jerusalem area. Inaugurated before October 7th, the new Centre is at the forefront of care in the region, as it is only the second of its kind in the whole country. The MOD Jerusalem Mental Health Centre is staffed by psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and all auxiliary staff who provide group and individual therapy on a short-term and long-term basis. The Centre while expecting to treat a majority of people with PTSD, depression and anxiety disorders, also will treat psychiatric disorders including schizophrenia, bi-polar and obsessive compulsive disorder. The Centre will accept anyone who requests assistance, regardless of whether they are ultimately recognized by the Ministry of Defence and will be treated at no cost.
