June 13, 2025 – Thanks to the professionalism of our medical and logistics staff, on Friday, within a matter of hours, we were able to transfer many of our patients to our protected underground facility.
Beds, heart monitors, respirators were relocated to care for these patients. The Sheltered Underground hospital was specifically built in the Samson building for exactly a situation like Israel is experiencing now.
The video below will give you a sense of our underground facility fully occupied and working.
127 ventilated patients from five different Chronic Respiratory Care departments were transferred. In addition, patients from the complex nursing and general rehabilitation departments were also transferred. We transferred over 60 babies and children in our chronic respiratory department to the protected underground facility.
Try to picture moving 200 patients-each one individually in an elevator with several staff people accompanying each patient. One to push the bed, another to make sure the necessary equipment was connected like heart monitor and ventilator stays attached, and one to make sure the patient was ok. Imagine that being done 200 times under extreme pressure as quickly as possible.
A further protected space has been prepared to accommodate an additional 150 patients.
In coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Home Front Command, this operation is part of a comprehensive preparedness effort aimed at ensuring continuous medical care and the safety of both patients and staff.
We are also on standby to receive ventilated patients from other hospitals in Israel.
We will need to replace many of the ventilators and other equipment.
